Have you ever wondered if we’re missing something? It’s crazy if you think about it. The God of the universe—the creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and e-minor—loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss. Does something deep down inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical solutions? Because the answer to religious complacency isn’t working harder at a list of do’s and don’ts—it’s falling in love with God. And once you encounter His love, as Francis describes it, you will never be the same.
We, as a church, are going to embark on a five week series, and I am excited as we begin to see and hear what God will do in our personal lives, our families, and our church as we minister to those around us in our very own community.
We will be taking the challenge to show Gods love in a practical yet crazy way, a way that will cause others to ask, “Why are they doing that?” It will then create an opportunity to share the love of Jesus.
We will also be communicating how small groups can be involved with an on-going curriculum through these five weeks. If you are not currently plugged into a small group, this will be a great chance to birth some new ones.
