Letter From Pastor
21 October
- October 09
- Harvest time is upon us, the beauty of the fall season is unfolding, and we are preparing to host the new Heartland District Conference October 26 to 28.
Pastors and leaders from five different states will be coming to share these days of celebration in preparation for a great harvest of souls for the Kingdom.
Robert Flores, president of Life Bible College in California, will be our speaker. Glenn Burris, the new president of the Foursquare Church, will be here ministering and sharing vision for the future. We are expecting between 300-400 to attend to be blessed and encouraged as they labor in love in their home churches and communities.
Pastor Ted Olbrich will also be with us at the convention. Pastor Ted will be our guest speaker on Sunday, Oct. 25 in the morning and evening services, he will speak at Gateway Faith Fellowship on Saturday, Oct. 24, and Rotary Fellowship Monday, Oct. 26 at noon. I hope you can join us as Ted shares the victories and struggles of caring for nearly 4,000 orphans and the reaching of hundreds of thousand souls in the past ten years. They have experienced every miracle in the book of Acts, including the raising of the dead.
You, as a loving church family, totally support two orphanages at $1,500.00 each per month. That means 100 little orphans are fed, clothed, schooled, trained to work, and experience the transforming power of God in their hearts. Thank you for giving to the Lord.
Because of recent flooding that damaged six of the orphan homes in Cambodia, we will have a special offering to help restore them. Their need is $25,000 to $30,000. If you have a heart to help, please send your love offering to the church and every cent you send will go directly to Cambodia. The church absorbs all administrative costs so everything you give to any of our missions or missionaries in 140 nations worldwide goes entirely to them. In our annual report, we shared how 2,470,000 people made decisions for Christ in 2008, and we expect an even greater harvest this year.
There is another season we have entered into as we see a global meltdown of the financial world. The talk on global economy and one world order makes it clear the return of our Lord is near. Our attitude as Christian people must not be sensationalism, exploitation, or speculation. Our focus must be fixed on “Him” and to what Jesus calls us to do, “Occupy until I come.” Everything we do on earth we will do better in Heaven. but, one thing we can never do there is have a goal to reach a lost soul.
We, the church, are better together. That is why we are starting our One Month to Live program on November 1.
One Month to Live is a New York Times bestseller book by Kerry & Chris Shook.
Read these comments about the book from some well-known Christian authors:
“If you want new urgency, fresh purpose, and a sharper focus for your life, then this book is for you. Read it and your future may be changed forever.”
Lee Strobel, Best selling author of The Case for Christ and The Case for the Real Jesus
“Regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, One Month to Live will challenge you to passionately live the life you were made for and leave an eternal legacy.”
Bill Hybels, Best selling author and Senior Pastor, Willow Creek Church
“One Month to Live is a great way to discover the purposeful, joyful, abundant life God created you to enjoy.”
From the foreword by Rick Warren, Best selling author of The Purpose Driven Life.
Small groups will be held throughout the week as well as Sunday evening at church. This is a life changing process to get perspective on life according to God’s word.
Come and be a part of what God is doing.
Pastor Jim
