I just arrived home from two days of Heartland District meetings in Chicago when Dave Wherry, a farmer who is part of our church family, called. He asked if I wanted to come out and ride in the tractor while he planted corn. I had been telling him about my farming experience growing up so I replied, “Yes, I will be there as soon as possible.”

Sharon and I were so excited as we met with the District Supervisor after our graduation from Bible College in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Dr. Nicholls said, “I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider going to Clinton, Iowa.” I asked if there was any hurry about our decision, and he replied, “No, I will be here until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow.”
